PURPOSE
To form a focus group for information specialists in the East Coast/Hawkes Bay Region.
To conduct continuing education for information professionals.

Membership is open to all Librarians in the East Coast Region of the North Island.
Membership is $10 per annum.
LIANZ Membership is not a requirement, but desirable.

LIANZA PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATION BOARD LIANZA
Vice President, Vye Perrone, announced today the followingappointments to the LIANZA Professional Registration Board:
* Allison Dobbie (Chair) - Group Manager, Auckland City Libraries
* Gail Pattie - Library Manager, University of Canterbury Library
* Johnann Williams - Librarian, Rangi Ruru Girl's School
* Anne Rewiti - Reference and Maori Services Librarian, WellingtonCity Libraries
* Beryl Anderson - Information and Research Services Manager, ESRSpecialist Science Solutions
* Dr Gary Gorman - Professor of Library and InformationManagement, School of Information Science, Victoria University ofWellington
* Spencer Lilley - Maori Services Librarian, Massey UniversityLibrary* Penny Carnaby - National Librarian, National Library of NewZealand
"We are thrilled to have such a high calibre and distinguished group oflibrary and information professionals appointed to serve on theinaugural professional registration board" Ms Perrone said. "The boardhas a good geographical spread and the representation from Maori and alllibrary sectors is extremely positive".
